1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Driveczech Group s.r.o. ("we", "us", the "Provider") governing your use of the mobile application Till the End: Life Countdown and any related widgets, content, and services (together, the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App. The App also presents a short disclaimer inside the App that you must accept before any estimate is ever shown to you; accepting it confirms these Terms.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live) to use the App. The App deals with the subject of mortality and is intended for adults who choose this kind of reflection freely.

2. What Till the End is — and is not

Till the End displays a live "time remaining" countdown derived from your entered birth year, country, and sex, using bundled public WHO/UN-style population life-table data. All calculation happens on your device.

The figure is a population-level statistical average. It describes how long an average person with those broad characteristics has historically tended to live. It is:

• NOT a prediction of when you will die or how long you will actually live;
• NOT a measurement of your personal health, fitness, risk, or life expectancy;
• NOT medical, diagnostic, actuarial, insurance, or financial information;
• a reflective and entertainment aid only — a modern take on memento mori, meant to encourage mindfulness about time.

Your real lifespan depends on countless factors the App does not and cannot know. Many people live far longer, or shorter, than any average. Do not treat the number as fact about your future.

3. No medical, health, psychological, financial, or professional advice

The App does not provide medical, health, mental-health, psychological, legal, insurance, actuarial, financial, or any other professional advice, and using it creates no professional relationship of any kind between you and the Provider.

Nothing in the App should be relied upon for, or used to make, any decision about your health, medical care, treatment, medication, lifestyle, finances, insurance, estate, or life. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for any such matter, and never disregard, delay, or discontinue professional advice or treatment because of anything shown by the App.

4. Assumption of risk & emotional wellbeing

The App presents content about mortality and the passage of time. Some people may find such content uncomfortable, distressing, or emotionally difficult. You use the App voluntarily and at your own risk.

Please do not use the App, and please do not offer or recommend it to anyone, where it may cause harm or distress — including, without limitation, people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, suicidal thoughts, a serious or terminal illness, cognitive decline, or other vulnerability, and people who may misunderstand a statistical average as a personal prognosis. Use particular care before sharing the App with elderly or vulnerable individuals.

If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately. In the Czech Republic you can call the emergency line 112 or Linka bezpečí / Linka první psychické pomoci 116 123. In the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). The App is not a crisis, medical, or support service and must never be relied on as one.

5. Accuracy & availability

We aim for reasonable accuracy but make no guarantee that estimates, life-table data, calculations, weather information (provided via the third-party Open-Meteo service when you request it), or any other content are accurate, complete, current, or error-free. Data may be outdated, approximate, or wrong. Features may change, be suspended, or be discontinued at any time. The App may be unavailable or contain errors.

6. Licence & acceptable use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own private, non-commercial use on devices you own or control. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, redistribute, or create derivative works from the App except as permitted by law, and you must comply with the rules of the app store through which you obtained the App.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any estimate is correct.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Provider and its owners, directors, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or wellbeing, arising out of or relating to your use of, reliance on, or inability to use the App.

Without limiting the above, we are not liable for any decision you make, action you take or fail to take, harm, health outcome, emotional distress, financial loss, injury, or death that you or any other person attributes in any way to the App, its estimates, its content, or your reliance on them. You understand that any estimate is a statistical average and not advice, and you accept sole responsibility for how you interpret and act on it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any and all claims relating to the App shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for the App (or, if greater is required by law, the minimum the law permits).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our own gross negligence or intent, or statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Provider from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App or your breach of these Terms.

10. Privacy

Your birth date, country, and sex stay on your device. The App has no account, no analytics, no tracking, and no custom server. The only optional network use is a weather lookup via Open-Meteo when you type a city. See our Privacy Policy for details.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this page with its effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of the Czech Republic shall have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence provides otherwise. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter informally and in good faith.
